I was looking through the net for a clarification on what "DAY HIKING" specifically meant or referred to...when I stumbled across a non-commercial site which covered Day Hiking from many useful and informative angles.
The site's pages and links are so INFORMATIVE, that I felt it was worthwhile making it known in this hike forum.

The site is run by a gentleman who is quite a seasoned "aficionado" of light pack day hiking--especially up into mountain/peak areas... Also, the terrain featured is mostly in the western parts of the U.S.A.
